Overview
This program prepares learners to become facilitators of positive change in the world, through the arts and the creative processes, within a community arts context. It has been recognised in recent years that community and cultural interaction are essential factors within a contemporary art scene. Many artists have been engaged in striving to integrate social change and artistic expression. This module reflects a rising cultural imperative that art must reassume its position as integral to the community.
Module AimsThe broad aims of this module are: To develop and organize community arts outreach programs within the cultural diversity of Dublin 's inner city communities. To provide learners with planning and communication skills necessary to deliver inclusive arts workshops in a community context. To study models of community art projects in Ireland and abroad.
