Module Description

IT Applications The ability to coherently and appropriately present ones self, ones ideas and ones work is an essential skill for an artist both in an educational setting and in Professional Practice. The sharing of information and knowledge has become an important factor in both art practice and in the area of teaching and learning. An understanding of and ability to use Information Technologies for Presentation and communication purposes is invaluable in a learning context and in the pursuit of a career as a professional Artist.

Module Aims

The aim of this module is to develop the learner's understanding of and ability to use IT applications to further their learning in a Fine Art context, to further develop their critical awareness and to improve their presentation skills.

Indicative Syllabus

Developing Visual Literacy and Critical awareness via On line exchange
File management and Word processing.
Internet and eMail
Powerpoint presentation.
Using WebCT as a learning tool
