Module Description

Theme: Language and Communication Urban Places and Spaces This module introduces learners to contemporary sculpture practice and theory with an emphasis on learning relevant skills in the context of the overall theme of Language and Communication focusing on urban environments. This themed, skills-based approach builds on the knowledge acquired in Stage 1 with an emphasis on specific contexts. Investigation and contextualisation of the learners work takes place in Learning Portfolios.

Module Aims

The aim of this module is to introduce learners to contemporary sculpture practice and theory in the context of urban places and Spaces.

Indicative Syllabus

Execution of Primary & Secondary research methodologies
Introduction to Sculpture and Site specific practices
Investigation into presentations in various media and formats.
Studying the process of site survey analysis and selection
Use of Drawing as an investigative and predictive tool
Use of appropriate media through selection
Use of relevant skills
