Learning And Teaching Methods
As these laboratory sessions are hands-on learner numbers will be limited to 16 per laboratory session.
Assignments: Starting in the second/third week of the semester, each learner will be required to undertake 2 assignments over the 12 week periods on problems related to the course content.
Industrial visits to appropriate locations will be used to reinforce the application driven nature of the material.
Laboratory Experiments: Starting in the third/fourth week of the semester, each learner will be required to undertake 3 experiments over the 12 week periods on problems related to the course content.
Learners will be giving guidance and feed back on their laboratory experiments and assignments including examples of model solutions outlining the ideal answer to the problem.
Learners will be giving guidance based on previous lectures and brain storming of the assignment problem.
Lectures will be of a total of 4 hours per week broken down into two 2 hours duration twice a week for 12 weeks, with one lecture covering the basic principle and maintenance subject area while the other lecture covering the fluids subject area.
