Overview
This module provides an introduction to key concepts of film theory and history through analysis of the significant movements, styles and genres that have emerged during the first century of cinema. It draws on both the Hollywood and European traditions, focusing particular attention on a range of classic films Textual critiques are considered within the broader social conditions pertaining to the period of production.
