Overview

Module Description

Initially considering fundamental cell biology, this module moves rapidly to an overview of taxonomy before focusing on the animal kingdom. The physiology of the mammalian body is then reviewed systematically.

Indicative Syllabus

Unit 1 Introduction to Biology: Cell structure, Cell theory, movement across the cell membrane
Unit 2 Taxonomy: prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells
Unit 3 Zoology; Animal histology
Unit 4 Animal physiology: gas exchange, circulatory system
Unit 5 Animal physiology: nervous and reproductive systems
