Module AimsThe module aims to equip the student with practical and cognitive skills to perform basic molecular biology techniques.

Gene regulation in Prokaryotes & Eukaryotes, Lac operon, RNA splicing
Gene Cloning, Restriction enzymes, Transformation methods,
Expression systems used in industry
Selection/screening methods,
Monoclonal antibodies, Diagnostic test kits
Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and applications
Protein engineering, methods and applications in the food & pharmaceutical sector
Laboratory Practicals Restriction analysis of DNA & Gel electrophoresis
