Module Description

This fundamental module focuses on the essential communication skills which students need in order to be effective at college level, in the workplace and in wider society. Whilst broadly based, specific methods of communicating are explored and developed. This gives students ample opportunity to build upon their existing communication skills and increase their communication effectiveness. The module is presented to the student in an experiential/interactive learning format, in small groups, in a dedicated communication facility. This module is part of the Get SMART initiative.

Module Aims

To identify and apply the principles of effective communication both in the student's college life and future career in the Tourism / Leisure / Hospitality / Event sectors.
