Module Description

This module introduces public relations and the development of public relations theory. It illustrates the variety of forms of public relations practice used by practitioners in Ireland and abroad and how this practice supports and is supported by event management. It asks the student to consider how public relations should be practised in a variety of situations and contexts meeting the practitioner? obligations including that to society.

Module Aims

The primary aim of this module is to introduce public relations to the student, investing in him or her a systematic understanding of issues at the forefront of contemporary Public Relations and a reflexive awareness of their implications in contemporary society.
