Module Description

Professional studies emphasises the functions, activities and procedures used by the State for regulation of environmental health issues and problems in relation to situations not specifically arising in other areas of the programme. The official policies, standards and procedures used by Environmental Health departments to address issues such as nuisances, caravan parks, temporary dwellings, offensive trades, burial grounds and exhumations, common lodging houses, casual trading, derelict sites, places of public resort, communicable diseases, nursing homes, child care facilities, poisons, codes of professional conduct, ethics and confidentiality and the rights and roles of officials are addressed.
