Learning Outcomes
On Completion of this module, the learner will be able to
1. Understand how laws are enacted and the legal principles of natural justice which under pin them;
2. Understand the structures of the Irish court system and the roles and responsibilities of those who work within it
3. Distinguish between Civil and Criminal proceedings and be aware of how each is enforced such as legal practice such as laws of evidence, court procedures and in particular to the principles of statutory interpretation.
4. Understand European Union Law and be able to place law generally within an international context.
5. To critically evaluate the nature of a business and the concept of management
6. To critically evaluate the concepts of motivation and leadership and their effective utilization for improved performance and productivity
7. To critically evaluate the concept of organisation culture and its role in the running of a successful business
8. To critically evaluate the importance of change management and its role in modern-day business
9. To critically evaluate the concept of ethics and social responsibility in a business environment
10. To critically evaluate the importance of people in the operations of a successful business unit.
