Module Description

This is a programme for non-native speakers of English with a competence in English equal or superior to B2 (Independent User / Upper Level) of the Council of Europe linguistic guidelines. The programme enables students to develop their English language competence at a level that allows them to extract and convey meaning on a variety of complex subjects. This module enables students to interact in English with a degree of fluency and flexibility for social, educational and professional purposes. It heightens students' cultural awareness of Ireland and other English-speaking countries.

Module Aims

Develop the students' competence and confidence to manage in a variety of settings (educational and social) through the medium of English Develop the students' knowledge of English to understand and produce detailed text on a variety of complex subjects Develop the students' cultural awareness of Ireland and the English-speaking world in line with their growing competence and practice in the English language Facilitate the students' integration into life in Ireland
