Overview
This module develops students' understanding of how festivals and events contribute to economy and society. It encourages an awareness of festivals and events as phenomena that operate within economic, socio-cultural, and political environments and affect a variety of stakeholders. The module draws on theory and examines festivals and events operating at different scales both nationally and internationally.
Module AimsThis module aims to develop students' understanding of how festivals and events impact in a variety of ways on their surrounding environments. It explains the importance of evaluating impacts and promotes critical awareness of the strategies for promoting positive outcomes. It promotes understanding of the frameworks available for measuring and evaluating the varied impacts of festivals and events.
