Module Description

This course examines food safety issues from regulatory and industry perspectives, with an emphasis on the design and implementation of food safety systems to ensure legal compliance. The content is underpinned by detailed official and legislative requirements.

Indicative Syllabus

Overview of Food regulatory policies and organisations in Ireland. Current food hygiene programmes, legislation and supporting policies with respect to official food control inspections and auditing programmes and procedures, food sampling, unsafe food, consumer complaints Enforcement procedures Relevant I.S. guides to good hygiene practice.
