Overview
This module will prepare the students for their work placement within the food industry regarding their health & safety roles & responsibilities. The overall aim of the module is to prepare the student for their work placement within the food industry, their health and safety roles and responsibilities. The module aims to develop an understanding of the overall concept of risk analysis within the food industry which incorporates risk assessment, risk management and risk communication. Identify hazards associated with their work placement activities. Develop the student's ability to use risk assessment techniques in compiling an overall risk control strategy for an organisation as part of their work placement activities. To allow students to complete their Risk assessment in their respective work placement, reinforcing learning, personalising the assignment and facilitating independent learning. To incorporate the very important aspect of career management skills into Food Innovation Degree, that is to prepare the graduate not only for work placement but for their career after graduation. The Career Management Skills component of the module is designed to facilitate students in developing a personal career development plan and specific skills in the areas of self-assessment, occupational research, career decision-making, self-marketing and job-search.
