Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this module the learner will be expected to be able to: 1. Apply key components of Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations to the hospitality, tourism, leisure and event industries. 2. Identify and discuss the activities involved in Human Resource Planning, recruitment, selection and induction. 3. Discuss and illustrate employee development activities, including the identification of the students' own approach to learning. 4. Describe the performance appraisal process. 5. Explain and illustrate the financial and non financial components of a reward management package. 6. Work as part of a team and engage with others in the development of selection interviewing and appraisal skills. 7. Summarise the key pieces of Irish individual employment law and discuss case examples. 8. Discuss and illustrate the role and activities of the main players in industrial relations in Ireland.
