Learning & Teaching Methods

Keynote lectures will cover the main theoretical and factual aspects of the elective. Students will be expected to prepare for the keynote lectures by undertaking guided reading prior to the lecture and to subsequently expand and consolidate the material covered by lecture reading, research, seminars and case work. Seminars will provide a forum for discussion and analysis of research concerning the implications for consumer behaviour of the various concepts examined in the elective. Guided study, although not formally time tabled will be required of all students. The average weekly load will be approximately 3 hours and involve guided and non-guided reading, paper and seminar preparation, case studies and research. The following is an illustration as to how the subject will be managed.

Please note that the catalogue is provided as a guide to modules in DIT. Not all modules listed will necessarily be offered every year and new modules may also be added. Information subject to change. For detail on specific programmes/modules please contact the relevant School directly.
