Learning Outcomes

On completion the learner will be able to: 1. Explain fully the relationship between tourism suppliers and intermediaries. 2. Identify and differentiate the various intermediaries in the tourism industry (travel agents, tour operators and specialty channels). 3. Discuss the requirements that each intermediary looks for when choosing suppliers. 4. Assess the significance of issues such disintermediation and reintermediation. 5. Know how to select, evaluate and market to appropriate distribution channel members. 6. Differentiate between the different structures in the tourism distribution function.
