Module Description

This module introduces students to the concepts, theories and practices of tourism in developing countries. It tries to broaden students' understanding of how the tourism industry operates in countries outside of advanced capitalist societies.

Module Aims

To provide students with an understanding of the complex realities of tourism development in developing countries. It explains the rationale and policy contexts for tourism development and highlights the many ways, both negative and positive, that tourism is involved in promoting economic and socio-cultural change
