What is Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Civil Engineering?

Students enter the common second year for the Civil & Structural Engineering Degrees following the completion of a common first year programme in Engineering (DT066A). Students commencing the third year Degree programmes may be offered a choice of the Civil or Structural Engineering degree. Places are limited and successful students will be offered places depending on their performance in Year 2. All students will be offered a place on one of the programmes.    Subjects studied include mathematics, surveying, construction technology, design of structures, soil mechanics, computing, highway engineering transportation, hydraulics, environmental engineering and laboratory work.

Students may be required to attend classes at locations across the Institute.
