What is Bachelor of Science (Ord) Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences?

This Bachelor of Science Ordinary Degree in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences is run over three years with the opportunity to progress to an add-on year, for an honours degree, once the appropriate grades are achieved in your final year. This three year ordinary degree is a very practical programme with emphasis on analytical laboratory skills that will equip graduates for employment in the Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industry in Ireland. Leaving Certificate Chemistry is not a requirement for entry to this programme. Subject to appropriate grades, graduates may progress for one additional year to either of the following programmes: Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Chemical Sciences with Medicinal Chemistry or Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Forensic and Environmental Chemistry.


Students may be required to attend classes at locations across the Institute.
