What is Bachelor of Arts (Ord) Social Care Practice (Older People)?

The overall aim of the course is to develop professional training in social care work with older people to degree level. This programmes is interdisciplinary in nature and is informed by the new Health Infomration Quality Authority (HIQA) standards and the HETAC guidelines for social care training qualified social care workers. The course promotes self awareness and personal professional development. It aims to develop an emerging professional who will engage in self directed lifelong and who can work effectively with older people in a variety of settings in a culture respectful of professional, academic and ethical standards.


Students may be required to attend classes at locations across the Institute.
