What is Master of Arts Public Relations?

The Master of Arts in Public Relations is a one-year full time programme combining lectures, project work, a dissertation, and work experience, with a view to preparing students for a successful career in public relations. Our students gain a thorough understanding of public relations and the issues confronting it in the modern world. A particular emphasis of the programme is on the theory and practice of public relations as a function of strategic management. The MA in Public Relations at DIT is recognised by the Public Relations Institute of Ireland, (PRII) and the UK-based Institute of Public Relations (IPR). It is the only public relations education recognised by the IPR in the Republic of Ireland. The programme has also been accredited by the European Public Relations Confederation (CERP) of which the national public relations associations in 26 European and former Eastern Bloc countries are members. Teaching staff, associated with the DIT Master of Arts in Public Relations, are members of EUPRERA, the European Public Relations Education & Research Association, founded in 2000.
