What is Bachelor of Arts (Hons) International Business and Languages (Italian)?

This is a conjoint programme between the Faculties of Applied Arts and Business, with 50% of the contact hours devoted to languages and 50% devoted to business subjects. The key characteristics of this degree programme are the emphasis on language acquisition at 9 class contact hours per week in Italian, and the opportunity to spend the third year in Italy studying at a partner institution. Students take up Italian at beginner's level and study it intensively. They also take the full range of business subjects. This will enable them to achieve the standard of language competence necessary to spend Year 3 in Italy and enable them to find employment in a variety of businesses using their language skills. A range of elective modules is available including modules which offer the opportunity to maintain or take up a second language. Students choose one elective module worth 5 ECTS credits in each year of the programme.

Students may be required to attend classes at locations across the Institute.

Please note that the catalogue is provided as a guide to modules in DIT. Not all modules listed will necessarily be offered every year and new modules may also be added. Information subject to change. For detail on specific programmes/modules please contact the relevant School directly.
