October 2018- Developing Partnerships with Ho Chi Minh City University of Science

We were delighted to welcome some members from the Sl-Steam Group from the University of Science in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on October 22nd last. Dr Vanessa Murphy (School of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences) was fortunate enough to spend time in Vietnam with this group last summer as part of an Irish Aid funded programme called VIBE (Vietnam Ireland Bilateral Education Exchange). Dr Murphy and colleagues from DCU delivered two weeks intensive training with lecturers, teachers in the community and community partners with the inter-disciplinary STEM and community based learning unit at the University of Science in Vietnam.

Great discussions were had with our vistors in relation to community based learning in STEM subjects, so we hope to see some international projects resulting from this partnership in the near future!
