Antonio Clementi MPhil
Congratulations to Antonio Clementi, who successfully defended his MPhil thesis on the ‘Synthesis of Novel Targeted Drug Delivery Systems for Cancer Therapy’ in March 2009. Antonio's external examiner was Dr Helen Hughes from Waterford Institute of Technology and his internal examiner was Dr Denis O’Shea of the School of Food Science and Environmental Health, DIT. Antonio's project was a joint collaboration between the DIT and the University of Messina, Sicily. His supervisors are Dr Christine O’Connor and Dr Mary McNamara of the School of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, DIT and Dr. Antonino Mazzaglia of the Institute of Nanostructured Materials (ISMN-CNR) and Prof. Maria Chiara Aversa, Department of Organic and Biological Chemistry University of Messina, Sicily. Antonio’s research was presented at the 14th International Cyclodextrins Symposium in Kyoto, Japan last year.
