Successful viva voce candidates Summer '07

The School had two successful viva voce candidates this summer.

Congratulations to Martin Galvin who successfully defended his PhD thesis on the "Kinetic and Equilibrium Studies on Some Coordinated Cations: Investigating a Chemoenzymatic Route to Arene trans-dihydrodiols". Martin's examiners were Dr Michael Crampton, Reader in the Department of Chemistry at Durham University and Dr Marie Keating, DIT. Martin's supervisors are Dr Claire McDonnell (DIT) and Prof Rory More-O'Ferrall, UCD.

Congratulations also to Ciaran Potter who successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled " Metallo-Cyclodextrin Complexes For The Separation of Chiral Materials - Synthesis and Characterisation."  Ciaran's examiners were Prof Declan Naughton,  Director of the Biomedical & Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Group, Kingston University and Prof Michael Devereux, DIT. Ciaran's supervisor is Dr Noey Russell.

Both students will receive their PhD awards at the graduation ceremony in October.
