Peter Jones


Peter Jones, on graduating from NCAD and UMass was asked to develop the Printmaking Workshop at DIT.

He is a lecturer in printmaking, Erasmus co-ordinator, a practising artist, and a founder member of Interprint.

Jones has won many national and international awards, including The Krakow Print Triennial, Poland; The BP European Painting Award, Belgium; the Arts Council of Ireland and the Royal Dublin Society.

He is in many important collections including The Office of Public Works, The Irish State Collection, The World Bank, UNESCO and the EU Collection.

He initiated the first of a series of international summer schools and workshops in printmaking at DIT – based on research conducted in the school.

Jones has taught at the Miró Centre, Spain; Bilbao Arte, Spain; Caversham Centre, KwaZulu, South Africa; Michaelas Art School Cape Town, South Africa; The Scuola Internazionale di Grafica Venice, Italy; Academie Beeldende de Kunsten, Netherlands; Aristotle University, Greece; RIT and UConn USA.
