Design Lecturer

Background

A graduate of National College of Art and Design Dublin with

Hons Diploma in Illustration/Graphic Design in 1977 and a Diploma in the Principles of Teaching in 1978 and further Post Graduate at the International Institute of Mosaic Ravenna Italy, First prize Irish Craft awards RDS in Stained Glass, and awarded Best Book design by Irish Book Awards.

Moved to New York in 1979 to work as a freelance illustrator for Scholastic Publications and worked for short while at Henry Bendells department store on 5th Avenue as a Visual Merchandiser.

Patrick's main interest was in Stained Glass and applied and trained and worked at the renowned Greenland Stained Glass studios New York.

In the mid eighties Patrick returned to Dublin to establish his own stained glass studio and undertook a number of major commissions throughout Ireland,

Patrick also lectured part time in stained glass at the NCAD and worked at the Liberties Vocational School as a Art teacher till 1989 before he took up a position in Nassau

The Bahamas at HO Nash College, 1990 lectured part time DIT and appointed fulltime lecturer

In 1996 where he lectured in Illustration/rendering and drawing to the present day.

24 stained glass windows for St Patrick Parish church Rosenalice Co Laoise,

Major window For St Mary’s Cathedral Carrick on Shannon Co Leitrim

St Francis Convent Mullingar Co West Meath,

Pat retired from the School in 2014
