Sheila Ryan

“It has been said that time heals all wounds. I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens, but it is never gone.” - Rose Kennedy

Sheila Ryan's work explores the fragile and desolate state of pain and despair that people may suffer, yet words cannot translate. Her practice uses imagery of broken branches, which is then arranged into a collage and acts as a metaphor which seeks to capture this essence while continuing to live on and endure.
