Dublin Design Studio Shortlisted in Irish Design Awards 2015

Scriba

Dublin Design Studio has been shortlisted in the “Consumer Products” category for their innovative product “Scriba Stylus” in the Irish Design Awards 2015! Those shortlisted were selected from 320 entries, with 87 shortlisted in total across 25 categories.

Designer and entrepreneur, David Craig participated on Phase 1 of the New Frontiers programme at DIT Hothouse which commenced in September 2014. He was subsequently successful in securing a place on Phase 2 of the programme, which he completed just recently in June 2015.

David spent an exciting two years designing, developing, testing and perfecting Scriba, a revolutionary new electronic stylus for drawing directly onto the screen of an iPad or iPhone. Scriba communicates with your drawing app using Bluetooth to let you control functions like line thickness with a gentle squeeze. Scriba’s unique form has been ergonomically designed around the shape and movement of your hand to offer unparalleled comfort. It is so simple to use says Craig: “Just give it a squeeze; that’s all the training you need! "Dublin Design studio recently completed an extremely successful Kickstarter campaign seeing the business raise over €65k in funding for the further development of the Scriba product.

All of the shortlisted projects will be featured in the IDI Exhibition, which will tour the country, and will also be in the IDI Awards catalogue. The annual Design Awards Exhibition will open at 18.30 on Thursday 12th November 2015 at the Teeling Whiskey Distillery building in Newmarket Square, Dublin 8.
