DIT Hothouse sponsors DIT Kevin Street Project Fair 2016
DIT Hothouse once again sponsored the DIT Kevin Street Project Fair that took place on Wednesday, 13th April 2016.
Students from the DIT School of Computing, the School of Electronic and Communications Engineering, and the School of Electrical Engineering Systems at DIT Kevin Street exhibited their project work to an audience of industry guests.
Congratulations to Dublin Institute of Technology, 4th Year Computer Science student, Maximilian Adrian Mihoc, winner of the DIT Kevin Street Project Fair 2016 Competition.
Maximilian was involved in developing The Android Security App – a technology that utilises the Support Vectors Machine Classifier to identify users through behavioural biometrics with an accuracy of 75% by analysing scroll and fling interactions.

DIT Hothouse sponsored a €1,000 prize for the “Project with Most Commercial Potential” which was awarded by DIT Hothouse Senior Licensing Executive, Dr. Paul Maguire and DIT Hothouse Student Start-Up Programme Coordinator, David Gardiner, both of whom particpated on the overall judging panel.
Competitors were also invited to submit their proposals for the DIT Inventor Competition 2016. The main sponsor for this event, Ocuco Software Limited, once again sponsored the Best Project prize, worth €5,000 to the winner.
The Project Fair was a great opportunity for students and industry representatives to engage and to discuss projects undertaken by students as part of their studies at DIT Kevin Street.
