Odette Gabaudan

Background

Odette Gabaudan holds an MSc in Applied e-Learning and she is a Certified Examiner for CEFR aligned DELF exams levels A1, A2, B1, B2 (Centre International d'Etudes Pédagogiques).

She lectures in French and is currently Programme co-Chair for BA Business and Languages (years 3 and 4) and Lead tutor for French. As President of the Applied French Association, she has played an active role in the continuous professional development of teachers and lecturers of French as a foreign language in the Irish education sector.

Her research interest is in e-learning and in particular the integration of technology in language teaching. She has regular peer-reviewed publications and conference contributions on this topic. With the support of funding from the Institut Français and local seed-funding, she has co-produced an open education resource (OER) for French grammar (launched in 2016). In parallel, she was the DIT local implementation leader (2015-2017) for a National Forum funded OER, Digilanguages. The portal is aimed at enhancing digital literacies for language learning and teaching in Ireland and beyond. With the support of national funding, she also developed an open educational resource for business students of French in Ireland, Travailler en Irlande (2010).

She is a Teaching Fellow on the recently launched Co-Create Project aimed at developing a new curriculum framework for TU Dublin.
