  • DIT Students achieved top award at Chef Ireland 2011
  • The team was coached my their mentor George Smith lecturer in Cathal Brugha St
  • Lecturers in Cathal Brugha St, Tony Campbell & Norma Kelly also assisted the team with their work

Medals Achieved:

  • Ryan McGivern from first year Professional cookery in DIT received 2 gold medals
  • Harry Quinn from third year degree course in Culinary Arts in DIT received 1 gold medal and 2 silver medals
  • Rachel Warren from third year degree course in Culinary Arts in DIT received 2 gold medals
  • Diarmuid Ryan from third year degree course in Culinary Arts in DIT received 2 gold medals
  • Susan Murphy from MacNeans Restaurant received a gold a silver and a bronze
  • Annmarie Malony, a past professional cookery student in DIT received a silver and a bronze
  • Danielle O’Shaughnessy from The Green Hen restaurant received a gold and a bronze
  • Michael O’Connor, a past professional cookery student in DIT received a gold and a bronze medal.
