DIT Societies Raise over 40k for Charities
14 June 2013: The annual DIT Societies Charity Cheque Presentation and End of Year BBQ took place last Friday 7 June in glorious sunshine in DIT Aungier St. On the day over 40 thousand euro was presented to a variety of different charities. Professor Brian Norton addressed the crowd of students and praised their efforts in volunteering, civic engagement and fundraising throughout the year.
Also in attendance were representatives from many of the organisations that societies had fundraised for during the year, including Matt Lewis from the Irish Cancer Society, John Coyne from Wells for Zoe, Fr Kevin Crowley from the Capuchin Day Centre and CEO of Reachout.com, Elaine Gerathy.
On the day awards were presented to different societies and individuals that contributed that bit extra over the year, here is a list of all the recipients;

SVP also received over 2000 euro worth of toys for the Giving Tree Appeal and 1000 euro worth of meat vouchers from the DIT Societies Christmas Appeal
