Final touches are being put to the exhibitions for DITX2013 Design Graduate Show.
Students from Visual Communications, Interior Design, Furniture Design, Visual Merchandising and Product Design have been hard at work for the past few days making sure their projects are displayed to the best of their abilities at the venue in the Chocolate Factory, King’s Inn Street, Dublin 1.

The exhibition will be launched tomorrow evening (Friday 7 June) at 7pm (it will be preceded by an awards presentation at 6pm). The guest speaker will be Brian Nolan of Detail. Design Studio. The show runs until Monday 10 June (11-6pm daily).
The projects on show this year include interior design plans for a homeless shelter, vibrant visual merchandising schemes for shop windows, a glove for athletes that can detect when he or she is getting dehydrated, a body protector for female martial arts students, a striking red bookcase and an adjustable bookshelf made out of fabric!

The Chocolate Factory fits exactly with the Grad Show philosophy of re-invention and innovation.
It was once the William & Woods Ltd factory, which produced chocolate and sweets. After lying idle for six years, it has now become a creative space for artists, designers, photographers and, since last year, urban farmers.

DIT Grad Show gives students the opportunity to showcase their creativity, talent and hard work and for members of the DIT community and the public to view their creations.
DITX2013 is presented by the School of Art, Design and Printing at DIT.
