Transition into Higher Education Light Lunch Series

05 November 2013: Are you a first year programme tutor or are you involved in teaching first years?

If so, we have a ‘light lunch’ you won’t want to miss! Following on from the STEER (Student Transition: Expectations; Engagement; Retention) initiative, we would like to invite all first year tutors to our first ‘Transition into Higher Education’ Light Lunch Series. Two opportunities will be provided to attend the first session - on 21 November in DIT Bolton St and 28 November in DIT Kevin St.

What will the session involve?

  • As well as lunch, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Meet and chat with other first year tutors
  • Discuss good practice and identify opportunities for collaboration and synergy
  • Catherine Bolger, DIT Counselling service: Will provide a short session on ‘Helping First Year students adjust to Higher Education’
  • Meet face to face with members of the DIT Campus Life Services and get useful information on the services available to your students and the relevant contact details
  • Tell us what you would like to discuss next at the follow up Light Lunch in Semester 2!

When and Where!

DIT Bolton St, Boardroom from 1.10pm -2pm Thursday the 21st of November, 2013

DIT Kevin St, KE B-016 from 1.10pm-2pm Thursday the 28th of November, 2013

The sessions are informal so please drop in and leave at whatever time suits you over their duration.
