Reflecting the Rising at DIT: Easter Monday 2016
Posted: 10 March, 2016
Under the “Reflecting the Rising” banner Dublin Institute of Technology is collaborating with RTE to present a fascinating programme of lectures, performances and exhibitions in our Aungier Street campus which is built on the site of the original Jacob’s Biscuit Factory. Lectures will be delivered by a wide range of speakers, including journalists, historians, and commentators – all of whom will bring different perspectives to the story of the Rising.
One of the outstanding events on the day will be a performance of Marbhna 1916 – Requiem. Composed by lecturer Odhrán O Casaide, it will be performed in the Courtyard at 12 noon, with an orchestra, choir and soloists drawn from DIT students, staff and graduates.
The events are all free but ticketed - for a full listing of the events taking place in DIT Aungier Street and to book, please go here.
A solemn wreath-laying ceremony will also take place outside the DIT building on Bishop Street at 12.45 pm. No booking is required.
