TU Dublin New York Alumni Annual Gathering, May 23

Posted: 10 May, 2019

On 23rd May, New York graduates from TU Dublin will meet to celebrate the creation of our new university at the American Irish Historical Society in New York City.

Hosted by Professor David FitzPatrick, President of TU Dublin, the gathering will be an opportunity to catch up with old friends and to make new acquaintances from the TU Dublin network.

The guest speaker on the night will be Markham Nolan, Vice President of Media Operations for WWE, with responsibility for the distribution strategy for WWE's content on all digital platforms. A graduate of the MA in Journalism at Aungier Street and a native Dubliner, Markham worked in news from 1997 to 2019, starting out via photography after picking up a film camera in his teens. Several years of magazine and newspaper journalism followed, during which Markham was published in National and Sunday titles in Ireland and Australia. He was among the core team who built Storyful, the world's first social media news agency, which sold to NewsCorp for $25million in 2013. A move to New York saw him work at another media start-up before spending 2.5 years growing digital audiences for CBS News.

Refreshments will be served at this event. Spaces are limited so early booking is advised. This event is open to all alumni of TU Dublin and attendees are welcome to bring a guest.
