Students hold Art Workshop at the Creative Life Centre, St. James’s HospitalPosted: 16 May, 2019
Four students from our BA in Fine Art at Dublin School of Creative Arts held a Art Session for patients at the Creative Life Centre at Mercer’s Institute for Successful Ageing, St James Hospital.
The Creative Life Centre promotes and highlights the creativity of older people, enabling them to express themselves through art, sculpture, poetry, literature, music and drama. According to the centre, creativity has an important role to play in enhancing quality of life and enabling successful ageing. Furthermore, it enhances the psychological and emotional well-being of the individual, permeating and enriching everyday life, leading to greater personal fulfillment.
The session was organised by Anne Marie Walker, Lecturer in Fine Art and Photography as part of the schools module in Arts and Health.
