Brief Biography

Obtained a BSc (Hons) in Optometry from The City University in London. This was followed by optometric practice and an MSc in Physiological Optics, also at the City University. Awarded Fellow by examination of The British Optical Association and subsequently a Foundation Fellow of the College of Optometrists.

Awarded a PhD in Physiological Optics by Indiana University, USA, and was a Senior Scientific Officer at the Transport Research Laboratory in England from 1974 to 1979. Appointed to permanent staff of DIT as a lecturer in Optometry in 1979. Was Course Co-ordinator for the DIT Optometry Course between 1989 and 1995. Took leave of absence from 1995 to 1997 to work at Singapore Polytechnic, where he was Optometry Course Co-ordinator.

Returned to DIT in 1997, and was Optometry Course Co-ordinator from November 1997 to September 2001.
