College of Business Students in Montreal for the John Molson Undergraduate Case Competition 2019
26 February 2019
The John Molson Undergraduate Case Competition (JMUCC) is an annual, week-long event that takes place in the heart of downtown Montreal, and challenges twenty-four international teams from renowned business schools.
Four final year students - Cara Edwards studying Business and Law, Lucy Kidd, Brendan Hughes and Ryan Conlan all studying Business and Managment are representing TU Dublin at the John Molson Undergraduate Case Competition (JMUCC) at Concordia University, in Montreal, February 24th to March 2nd 2019.
This is the 11th year of the competition and TU Dublin is just 1 of 5 Universities to claim the significant achievement of having been selected to participate in every competition to date (alongside host School Concordia, the University of South Carolina, the University of Florida, and the National University of Singapore).
Cara, Lucy, Brendan and Ryan came through a rigorous selection process - in which all final year students on the programmes participated to make the team. Since selected, the team members have shown great commitment to the preparation process and we are confident they will be real contenders this week. Some of you may be interested in trying out to make this team or indeed teams for other case competitions in which we participate when you reach final year.
The format for the first three rounds of competition today, tomorrow and Wednesday is such that teams have 3 hours to analyse a case (situation facing a company) and to design a presentation entirely from scratch with no access to books, notes or the internet. The teams then move directly from their preparation room to their presentation room where they present their solution to panel of judges from the case company.
You can watch live streams of the presentations or catch up on the action on social media #JMUCC19
