BSc Information Systems and Information Technology

This highly popular part-time Computing degree programme is available for students wishing to complete one of the following qualifications part-time:

  • Higher Certificate (completion of the first two stages, over a minimum of 2 years)
  • Bsc Ordinary (completion of the first three stages, over a minimum of 3 years)
  • BSc Honours (completion of the all four stages, over a minimum of 4.5 years)

The programme is directed primarily at professionals currently working in the IT industry, but additionally at individuals who have completed qualifications in IT at other levels. This includes indiivduals applying for admission to the programme following completion of the pre-Degree computing programme in Killester College of Further Education.

The programme requires attendance for lectures on three evenings per week, with labs taking place on a fourth evening.

The programme is fully accredited by the Chartered Institute for IT, providing a route to Chartered Information Technology Professional (CITP) status for graduates of the BSc (Honours) Information Systems and Information Technology programme who are working in the IT profession.
