Prof Sarah Jane Delany


Sarah Jane is Assistant Head of School in the School of Computer Science. She has a BA (Mod) in Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin and a PhD from DIT which she received in 2006. Before joining DIT she worked as for Anderson Consulting and ESBI Computing as an IT consultant. She was awarded an honorary professorship by DIT in 2017.

Her research interests are in the area of machine learning, more specifically in text analytics and concept drift and the application of machine learning to real world problems. She is a Principle Investigator in the EI funded Centre for Applied Data Analytics Research (CeADAR) and a co-founder of the DIT Applied Intelligence Reseach Center. She has published over 50 peer-reviewed publications in the area of machine learning.
