5 Hothouse Companies Nominated for IIA Awards 2015
The Annual IIA DOT IE Net Visionary Awards will be held on Friday, October 9th in the RDS Concert Hall. Now in their 17th year, these awards are a mainstay of the internet business calendar. Best International Scaling Irish Business
Smarter Surfaces, previously known as Smart Wall Paint, was founded by Ronan Clarke in 2011.
For a two-year period, Smarter Surfaces was involved in extensive research and development and the company launched their first product, Smart Wall Paint White, in November 2011. The company has filed two new patent applications for a new dry erase coating technology to date in 2014. In 2014, the company launched Smart Wall Paint Clear and the Smart Wall Paint Contractors kit in the first quarter. The Smart Magnetic Primer was the last product to be launched in 2014.
In 2015, the company launched Smart Projector Paint, Smart Magnetic Wallpaper and Smart Whiteboard Sheets - in a mission to provide customers with more functional product choices.
Smarter Surfaces now has a global network of distributors in every continent as well as a strong presence in multiple languages. These products and company have won a raft of national and international awards including FM European Office Product of the Year 2014. Customers include Google, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, as well as universities, schools and small businesses all over the world.
Smarter Surfaces were participants on the DIT Hothouse/IADT New Frontiers programme in 2012.

Best Start-Up – the one to watch for 2016

Best Innovation for Agri/Food Sector
Agriland is Ireland’s Largest Farming News Portal. It is it the first dedicated digital news publisher in Agricultural space in Ireland. Agriland launched in July 2013 and current traffic is estimated at 110,000 unique visitors per month growing at 20% month on month. The Agriland news app launched in September 2014 has been downloaded 15,000 times to date.
Agriland participated on the DIT Hothouse/IADT New Frontiers programme in 2014.

Dr. Coy's Health Foods, a family run Irish business, is passionate about positive eating and a healthy lifestyle. Founder Alison Stroh saw a gap for a truly healthy snack as her research showed that snacking is where people slip up in trying for better nutrition. In 2012 she approached Dr. Johannes Coy, an award-winning German oncologist, to propose offering chocolate with certified health benefits to the market.
The company has been supported on its journey by Enterprise Ireland and participated on the DIT Hothouse/IADT New Frontiers programme in 2014.
Dr. Coy’s were listed as a finalist in the Irish Times Innovation Awards 2015.
