Charles Mitchell has been a lecturer in the School of Real Estate and Economics in the Dublin Institute of Technology since 2010. He is a Member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland, a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Charles first graduated in 1997 with a Diploma in Construction Technology and started work as a Quantity Surveyor while completing his BSc. in Construction Economics part-time. In 2006, he successfully completed a post-graduate diploma in Irish Law and Arbitration in University College Dublin. He has worked for contractors and within small practices. He has worked on a wide variety of projects including residential, commercial, fit-out, heritage restoration & refurbishment, civil and small marine civil engineering projects. Charles has an interest in alternative dispute resolution. He delivers modules in building measurement on the undergraduate and MSc programmes, as well as law modules on the undergraduate programmes. Charles is currently the Dublin Institute of Technology representative on the Quantity Surveying Committee of the Society of Chartered Surveyors in Ireland.
